Cymdeithas Cymry Sydney - The Welsh Society of Sydney,
is experiencing a transitional period of renewal, and we are
enthusiastic about our prospects. Currently we are offering events
and news media to keep alive Welsh traditions and to inform the
society members, and the greater Welsh community, about events
with a Welsh interest staged by the Society or other organisations.
Later this year we are offering a free BBQ in the park for members
to meet and socialise.
The Welsh Society is a non-profit making venture and our income
comes from membership fees alone. Beth Nesaf for example has
been set up using membership fees to inform the Welsh Community
in the absence of TV, Radio or Print media.
To enable the Society to operate successfully, to grow and promote
Welsh culture and language in Sydney we need your financial membership.
In the next 12 months we will be promoting and participating
in, St Davids Day events, Cymanfa Ganu, Celtic Festivals, social
events, a planned eisteddfod and a charity,
fund- raising social night.
We will also promote and support through our e-magazine ‘Beth
Nesaf’, the Sydney Welsh Choir, the Cantorion Sydney Male
Voice Choir, the Dylan Thomas society and social Welsh gatherings
for the young and young at heart, including the Bluebirds Down
Under, Gwlad, the Social Jacks and SWS amongst others.
The Society also represents our community at Welsh trade fairs
in Australia.
With your help we look forward to providing a service for many
years to come.
