‘Agape’…Albwm newydd Aeram Evans.
Mae albwm newydd Aeram Evans ‘Agape’ allan!
Hen air Groegaidd am ‘gariad’ yw ‘agape’ mae’n
debyg a ‘cariad’ yw’r thema sy’n
rhedeg drwy’r albwm yma sy’n hollol wahanol,
o ran naws, i gynnyrch y canwr gyfansoddwr yma ar ei albymau
blaenorol megis ‘Nostradamus’ a ‘H2O’ lle'r
oedd y caneuon yn fwy o ganeuon ‘roc grutiog’ oedd
yn cael eu cyflwyno ag ‘osgo’. Mae’r
caneuon ar ‘Agape’ yn fwy ‘ymlaciol’ ac
er bod y cyntaf ‘Ar y Traeth’ yn gân
a digon o fynd ynddi, mae’n gân sy’n
cyflwyno darlun o ddianc o bwysau’r byd modern i’r
traeth ar ddiwrnod chwilboeth i ymlacio a mwynhau yng nghwmni
ffrindiau. Gellir categoreiddio’r drydedd gân
ar yr albwm ‘Credu’ fel ‘cân protest’ -
o atgasedd o amddiffuantrwydd a llwgrwobrwyaeth gwleidyddion
y byd, atgasedd o hiliaeth ac o ddulliau terfysgaidd ‘Al
Qaeda’ - ac er i’r gân yma, a’r
albwm, gael ei chynhyrchu cyn y digwyddiadau erchyll hynny
a gymrodd le yn Llundain bythefnos yn ôl, mae’n
rhyfeddol o amserol. Mae’r gweddill o’r caneuon
i gyd yn ymwneud a chariad mewn amrywiaeth o brofiadau
bywyd ond mae’r gan olaf ‘O Dan dy Gras’ yn
ddatganiad o gariad cyn bechadur tuag at ei frenin ysbrydol
Iesu Grist.
Ar y cyfan, albwm i wrando arni ac i ymlacio iddi yw ‘Agape’ -
ar adegau pam mae rhywun am roi traed i fyny neu ar daith
mewn modur ond hefyd, dyma albwm a fyddai’n apelio
i’r sîn ‘gospel’ ac i gefnogwyr
o lais angerddol unigryw Aeram Evans. Mae ‘Agape’ allan
ar label ‘Arlais’ sef, label Aeram Evans
ei hun ond Recordiau Sain sy’n gyfrifol am y dosbarthu
a gellir archebu ar-lein oddi wrth Sain (Gosodwch Aeram
Evans - Agape yn y peiriant chwilio ‘Google’)
neu, gellir ffonio Siop Sain ar 01286 676946 neu, gellir
ei phrynu mewn unrhyw siop Cymraeg arall wrth gwrs.
Pris Agape: £10
Aeram Evans’s new album‘Agape’ was released
on the 25th July and although all the songs are in Welsh,
the word ‘Agape’ is, Apparently, an old Greek
word for ‘love’ which, indeed, is the theme
that runs through this album. The style is totally different
to the ‘gritty rock with attitude’ style which
we associate with this singer composer’s earlier
albums of ‘Nostradamus’ and ‘H2O’ with
the songs on ‘Agape’ being more ‘laid
back’ and ‘easy listening’ material.
However, the first track on the album ‘Ar y Traeth’ is
a “catchy” and a most suitable track to dance
to with the message in the words being that such should
be done in the company of friends on a hot summer day,
on the beach, away from the stresses of the modern demanding
world. The third song on the album ‘Credu’ can
be slotted into the ‘Protest Song’ category
and although this song was produced well before the recent
terrifying London suicide bombings, the sentiments expressed
are topical to say the least. Whilst most of the other
tracks on this album deal with ‘love’ in a
variety of situations and experiences the last track ‘O
dan dy Gras’ differentiates from the others as it
is a definite gospel number. This song expresses a reformed
sinner’s love for his saviour Jesus Christ.
‘
Agape’ is an ideal album to relax to whilst putting
your feet up or whilst on a car journey; it is also an
album that is a must for lovers of ‘gospel’ music
and for fans of Aeram Evans’s unique voice and passionate
method of deliverance through song. ‘Agape’ has
been released on Aeram Evans’s own record label ‘Arlais’ but,
as was the case with ‘H20’, distribution is
in the hands of Sain Records. Anyone wishing to order ‘Agape’ can
do so ‘on-line’ with Sain (type ‘Aeram
